of Loch Ewe which is influenced by the warming Gulf Stream.

special place is truly inspirational in its vision. Conceived
by Tim Smit, the Eden Project's aim is to 'promote the understanding
and responsible management of the vital relationship between plants,
people and resources leading to a sustainable future for all'.
Set within an old china clay pit, the 'Biomes' housing the plants
are in themselves extraordinarily beautiful and exciting pieces
of architecture.

14th Century house which was additionally restored by architect
Edward Lutyens in 1912. The garden also laid out by Lutyens wrap
around the house giving strategic views back. In addition, Christopher
Lloyd lived all his life at his family home and with the help of
his friend and head gardener Fergus Garrett, constantly experimented
with planting combinations. |

Beth Chatto Gardens began in 1960 by Beth and Andrew Chatto. From
an overgrown wasteland with poor gravel soil and boggy hollows it
has been transformed into an informal garden harmonizing with the
surrounding countryside. Famous for her dry gravel garden, Beth
Chatto pioneered ecological gardening; matching plants to their
rightful habitat. |

the Cotswold's; designed by Major Lawrence Johnston.

Sir Edwin Lutyens and planted by Gertrude Jeykll. The stonework,
