Description:
A
small, south-west facing front garden which was paved with concrete
crazy paving. Dustbins sat off the path on compacted earth. Altogether,
it was rather an unnattractive entrance to the house.
The Brief:
To make back into a garden and provide an attractive
entrance to house. Wanted seasonal interest.
The Design:
A dustbin area was created off the entance path with trellis for
screening. Planting took up the rest of the brief, but we added
stepping stones through the front garden as access for cleaning
windows
Planting:
A lavander hedge was planted on the front edge with
climbing roses and sun loving irises and penstemons behind. Euphorbia
characias 'Wulfenii' provides additional evergreen structure and
provides early interest in year with its striking lime green flowers.
Rudbeckias and Echinops (globe thistle) provided late summer/autumn
interest. |
