Press Release: Hampton Court 2005

PRESS RELEASE July 2005

Flora Design is a versatile Bristol based garden and landscape design company owned by the appropriately named Flora McArthur.

Flora designs stylish and sophisticated gardens of all sizes from tiny urban spaces to larger rural properties. She is passionate about good design, believing it to be central to the creation of a successful space. Working closely with clients is also as important to her - and this combined with a regard for the character and materials of the local landscape allows her to create imaginative and beautiful gardens.

Collaborating with Steinworks Sculpture at Hampton Court has been an exciting challenge and a chance to work with a complimentary design field.

Matt Stein’s ‘Elements’ range of stainless steel sculptures exude a calm yet powerful presence and the design of the exhibition stand needed to enhance these qualities as well as making it a feasible space for people to wander in and enjoy a serene space amongst the crowds.

The stand conveys a strong architectural feel with the curved blue canopy creating an additional interior space; an ideal place to display Matt’s vibrant sculptural wall hangings.

The translucent boundary walls provide a feeling of enclosure without blocking the view of the sculptures on approach to the stand. The planting combines a variety of plant forms to compliment the range of sculptural shapes. Designing the stand has also enabled Flora to dip her toe into the exhibition world and she is excited at the prospect of creating a show garden in the future.
